Midweek Magnolias - Lovely Lace

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday.  One thing I hate, it's rushing, but here I am again up against the clock!  My son has a huge project that he's doing for school which seems to require him to sit at the computer every waking hour!!  Nobody else gets a look in at the moment.

However, Team B over at Midweek Magnolias have been creating some absolutely stunning samples for our theme this week which is Lovely Lace.  Please pop over there and take a look at them.

This is my creation - it's hanging on my dining room wall as I speak!  Tilda is painted with Distress Inks and the papers are mainly Bearly Mine Designs.

And now I must dash off to work!  Thank you for stopping by, and please visit my lovely teamies at Midweek Magnolias, their work is just stunning! :o) xx

MIA - Busy, busy!!

OMGoodness, where have I been???  It doesn't seemlike 5 minutes since I last blogged but I just spotted that it was right back at the beginning of June!  So much has happened since then.  A couple of months ago the boss invited me into his office to tell me that the child that I support is moving to a new school in September, thus rendering me officially unemployed.  I wasn't worried though because I knew that other opportunities would arise.  That's the biggest drawback of my job, as an SEN Teaching Assistant it is only ever possible to be employed on a temporary basis, usually for the duration of the child's stay in that school.  Up to now I've had to go through the interview process every 12 months, and it doesn't get any easier!!  It's bad enough being interviewed full stop, but when you're being interviewed by people who know you well, it's even worse and they don't cut you any slack!!  LOL!

Anyway, later that day one of our long-standing TA's whispered in my ear that she'd handed her notice in!  OMG!  Have you ever felt really sad, and really excited at the same time?  What a weird emotion it is.  I love her to bits and really don't want to see her leave, but by the same token, here was a fantastic opportunity with a permanent job up for grabs.  Anyway, the long and short of it is that I got the job!!  YAY!!  I am staying in Year 1 for ever! WooHoo!!!  My interview was on 12th June and I was offered the post on the same day and it still hasn't really sunk in - I am over the moon!

The following day I received a message from a lovely lady called Andrea inviting me to be a Guest on her Stamp with Fun blog.  OMGoodness, what an honour!  Naturally I accepted with great pride, then Andrea went on to offer me a full-time DT post!  WooHoo!!  I have been dying to shout about this because I am thrilled, honoured and really looking forward to being part of this fabulously talented team!

My first challenge is #167 and is called Angel.  A great opportunity for me to jump onto the Christmas Card-making bandwagon of 2012.  Here is my card:

The papers are Bearly Mine Designs from their Christmas Dreams digi kit and sweet Angel Tilda was coloured with pencils

the stars were applied digitally to give it a bit of a Christmassy feel! LOL!  Hope you like it, and thank you for stopping by!  Please pop over to Stamp with Fun to see the other fab samples that the DT have created!

Have a great day - I've got a TED day so I intend to have fun! :o) xx

Washed out!

Oooer!  It's Friday already and I haven't yet posted my card for this week's Midweek Magnolia theme which is "Anything Goes".  My lovely teamies have created some fabulous projects, please pop over there and take a look at them!

I'm late posting because we decided to take a chance on the weather and head off with our tent to Devon.  unusually though we had to book ahead because the world and his dog chose this week to go camping!  We did find a fabulous place called Leadstone Camping at Dawlish.  Beautiful campsite, very clean and well managed.  However, the weather wasn't on our side.  We bore the brunt of this European Monsoon that's in full swing and Devon and Cornwall were apparently on 'Ambert Alert' yesterday.  Yuk!  It was horrible in a tent and everything got soaked.  I've camped in the rain before and it doesn't bother me, but this was different - it was incredibly windy, freezing cold and the rain was just not letting up at all and with the forecast ahead being just as grim, we decided to call it a day and came home.

Before I went though I made this card in anticipation of smelling the sea air!  We did manage to spend a gorgeous day in the sunshine at Brixham, so it wasn't all bad.

The bg paper is one that I made myself using a digi kit - I can't remember which one, off the top of my head, but I will try and remember and post it next time.

Right, that's my lot.  Hope you're all having a good week, despite the rain.  See you soon and thank you for stopping by! :o) xx
